The problem we solved.

Water treatment processes require specific sequences of valve, motor and compressor operations depending on the treatment mode — normal filtration, fine filtration, backwash or rinse. When operated manually, there is a real risk of operators opening the wrong combination of valves, which can cause cross-contamination, equipment damage or process failure. Operators also need to be physically present at each equipment to initiate and monitor each step.

Our turnkey automation solution gives the plant a single SCADA workstation from which operators can select the desired operating mode and let the PLC safely execute the correct valve sequence. Every command passes through PLC-enforced interlock logic that prevents conflicting operations — a valve cannot open if it would create an unsafe flow path. The SCADA screen shows a live animated process flow diagram, making the current plant state immediately visible to any operator at a glance.

What the system does.

Four Operating Modes

Normal Filtering, Fine Filtering, Backwash and Rinse — each mode activates a specific, PLC-validated set of valves and equipment to route water through the correct treatment path.

Auto & Manual Control

In Auto mode, the PLC executes the full mode sequence automatically. Manual mode gives operators individual control of each valve and motor for maintenance and commissioning tasks.

Safe Valve Sequencing

PLC interlock logic prevents any valve combination that would create a forbidden flow path. Commands that conflict with the current process state are rejected with an on-screen explanation.

Motor & Compressor Interlocks

Feed pumps, backwash pumps and air compressors are started and stopped in the correct order by the PLC. Motor protection faults automatically halt the sequence and raise an alarm.

Live Process Visualisation

The SCADA mimic shows the full plant layout — tanks, pipes, valves, pumps — with colour-coded animation indicating current state: running, stopped, faulted or in-transition.

Alarm & Event Log

All process deviations — high/low level, motor trip, valve failure, pressure fault — are logged with timestamp and operator acknowledgement. Historical event logs are available for audit.
